Siwezani – a smooth and deep new track from Phy
One of our favourites is at it again with a new track dubbed Siwezani. I’ve been an avid fan of Phy since her debut single Ruka. I overplayed that song so much. I only discovered much later that she was on Maisha Magic’s Maisha Superstar straight up killing the game, a competition which she of course won. I like her more than others for mainly the fact that she gave me a body of work and let me give her my money. Unlike so many other Kenyan artists who just can’t even be bothered to even have all of there music in one place at least.
Her new single, Siwezani, is about one’s inability to compete with women that her significant other keeps salivating over. Be it on social media or on television. I’m not a hundred percent behind the message of the song in Siwezani. I am that friend who will immediately yell LEAVE HIM, if your SO is making you feel insecure and not taking your feelings into consideration. Phy’s vocals are so amazing that it makes you almost forget that she’s singing about a trash boyfriend.
